Goodbye, Butterfly Dreams and Hello Good Stuff

© Sylvia Liu
I haven't done this in awhile, but here are some things I'm grateful for today:

  • I painted "Butterfly Dreams" last year and I've been enjoying it in my home since then. I showed it in an art show in May, and I just sold it today to a teacher at my kids' school. So I'm glad someone else gets to enjoy it, but I'll miss it.
  • Heading out to Tennessee this weekend for an illustration/dummy workshop organized by the Midsouth SCBWI (Tennessee/Kentucky), with guest expert Penguin US Senior Art Director Giuseppe Castellano. I'll be seeing some of my online (and real life friends): Teresa Robeson, Mary Reaves Uhles (who organized the workshop), and Karen Konnerth.
  • School is out for my daughters. That means I can sleep in late for the next few months, hang out at the beach, and have fun with them.

  2. Oh, you are going to LOVE Giuseppe, Sylvia! He was here at our last Southern Breeze conference and I so wished I was an illustrator so I could've hung out with him even more. :-)

  3. Hi Silvia, great blog, Can you tell me how you are wrapping the text around the images in your posts?

    1. Thanks! Most of the time, I don't wrap the text. But when I do, I click on the photoand I small menu bar appears. There you can choose the size of your image as well as the position. The default is center, but if you choose right or left, the text will wrap around.

    2. First thing I tried, does not work for me. Maybe it is the theme I am using?

    1. Yes, I'm so glad we had a good amount of time to chat, between the car ride and sharing the hotel room. :)
