A recent painting I made for an upcoming art show, part of my sea creatures series (though Siamese fighting fish are freshwater fish, so maybe I'll just make it a water creatures series).
Oh my goodness, either you haven't posted to IF in ages, or I've just missed way too much stuff recently. Beautiful fish! I love the color and sweeping strokes. Neat!
As always, your images make me want to "read the book". This one especially, being a fighting fish. The look in his eye makes me wonder what he's thinking... feeling cursed by his nature/label, or craving a chance to move "outside the bowl"? Love it!
Hi Sandy! I find that I paint these critters and then get inspired to write their stories. You're right bout this guy though...I always feel sorry for these fish, crammed into teeny bowls.
Beautiful illustrations! I love the vibrant colours :)
ReplyDeleteThanks!
